I've been following your breakthru ideas for 2... for quite some time and the 2007 collection remains a personal favorite by virtue of both width/breadth of subject matters discussed and included, as well as the depth of space allocated for readers to benefit from core ideas being reflected on.
That said, why did the editors of HBR opt for a much shorter version for 2008 really deserves some justification as there will be others just as bewildered as I am.
Thank you for responding.

I always look forward to the HBR Breakthough Ideas List and this year was another thought-provoking list. I was particlulary interested in the ones revoloving around technology. I counted 6 out of 20 related to second life (virtual worlds) and Web 2.0 technologies driven by the "gaming" generation. The combination of super-charged milennialls with the explosion of web 2.0 (and 3.0) are sure to hit the world of work like one of those new high-caffeinated power drinks.
More of my comments on the list can be found on my blog www.slacpa.org
thanks!

Another great compilation of thought-provoking ideas from HBR. I noticed, however, that there's very little effort to address the peculiar needs of small business executives. I know that many small business executives look to HBR for inspiration. It's important they are not left disappointed. In the future, you probably need to do more to get accross the message that HBR is not necessarily about or for big business only.
Thank you for the wonderful effort nevertheless.
